Description
I arrived back in Port Douglas recently after exhibitions at Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Mudgee Arts Precint Gallery and Bathurst Art Gallery all down south in NSW. Included in this time was working on the Jenny Kee Linda Jackson Documentary “ Step into Paradise”. During these years a lot of researching through the archives of artworks, textiles and fashion was essential and it rather exciting to discover the major influence and inspiration the Tropical Far North has played in my life.
Growing up by the sea in Beaumaris Victoria encouraged the love of the ocean coastline.
I have loved my wanderings through the outback and coastline of Oz discovering and documenting the amazing landscape in a myriad of ways, revealing a colourful and unique passion to creatively explore the stories of my travels.
My colourful tropical life really started with the furnishings and artworks of Club Tropical Resort in the mid 80s and continued on for decades with me relocating to live here in 2000.
I am happy to be back with the Port Douglas Artists group and I have relived my early tropical days to paint some of my favourite Lipstick Palms and Fan Corals.
